Well this was a wedding of “firsts”!
First full day wedding after lockdown
First time I have photographed bridal prep through a window
First time the groom has made us a cup of tea after the wedding breakfast
First time the wedding breakfast has been delivered in individual foil trays
First time a dog decided a wedding dress was a great place to sit
First time I have seen a bride go into a chicken shed with her dress on
First time a bride has literally cut up the whole wedding cake into slices!
Leigh-Anne and Andreas made the decision to go ahead with their wedding with their nearest of dearest (with restrictions at the time being 30 max). They changed all their plans to make sure they could have a “Covid-safe” wedding within the rules as they were then (they have changed again since then).
Leigh-Anne had Gemma Clarke doing make up and Sian Redmond doing hair. As I say I kept myself at the window to capture the shots of this just so I wasn’t adding to numbers inside. Flowers had been delivered by Jane Smith of Brinklow.
So they were marrying at the lovely Brinklow Church. Barbara was conducting the service. They were lucky in that the rules about wearing a mask in wedding ceremonies literally came into force a few days afterwards. All the guests socially distanced within their household bubbles. It was a wonderful service and was all about two people marrying because they love each other.
After the service we walked up the hill to the side of the Church to capture some photos before the guests made their way back to the couple’s home where an open sided marquee had been put up (was allowed at the time) along with some socially distanced tables and outdoor seating. Rainbow Wedding Shop did the gorgeous decor. We were able to take some lovely couple portraits up on The Tump before joining the rest of the guests.
The Bull’s Head delivered the food in foil trays, all individually labelled. It was a roast dinner and was delicious. Afterwards we had the opportunity to go into the field behind their home with Leigh-Anne, Andreas and their dog. We captured some really relaxed photos of them spending time together which was a reflection of their lives together, so made it all the more special.
It was a perfect wedding day and oh so special. They loved every minute as did their guests. We loved it too! Thank you for trusting us to capture your memories.
