Capturing families together on special days, that is what we do! What is more special is when you can capture your own family and make memories for them that will last forever. Well that is what we did when my cousin Gary married Lucy on a very windy day at Rutland Water. They had chosen to use the stunning Normanton Church for their civil ceremony and then celebrate at Normanton Park Hotel.
That was where our day started. When I knocked Lucy’s door of her suite where she was getting ready you could tell she was going to have the most wonderful day. Lots of fun and laughter. She had Nicola Higgs doing all the hair styling and her stunning dress from The Bridal Gallery was hanging along with the bridesmaids dresses. We had bumped into Perry of Soiree Taylor Made Occasions finishing off the floral displays. Great to see him again and check out the flowers!
Kev spent some time with Gary and the boys all looking great in their suits hired from Salters of Rugby.
It is just a short walk from the hotel to the Church so most of the guests made their way on foot. Gary’s Dad (my Uncle), Lucy and her bridesmaids all made use of the lovely car from Rutland Wedding Cars. The registrars have to do the meeting with the bride in the car itself due to the set up at the venue but that just adds to the quirkiness of this amazing place. Mark Elliott was the live music throughout the ceremony.
Once married Lucy and Gary wanted to have photos taken outside with the incredible views despite Storm Dennis playing havoc. But, hey, it all adds to the fun and the memories. We took their couple photos at this point too so that once back at the hotel they could stay in the warm with their guests.
Once it was time for dinner Gary announced their guests into the room for the wedding breakfast and then did the same for the speeches. After these we went back across to the Church for some evening shots. Boy had the wind picked up by this point but nothing phased the newly weds and it was great to capture a few lit shots for them. There was also an awful lot of laughter while doing so!!
Once again Gary got his guests into the room for the evening to kick off with the cutting of a beautiful cake by The Rustic Rose Company and then the first dance with Mark playing the music again.
Such a lovely day and an honour to capture the family memories. Check out a few of the photos here. Gary and Lucy will have a password and discount code for prints so contact them to see more.
