All weddings are happy occasions but I have to say for the wedding of Abbie and Richard you couldn’t have seen more smily faces and guests who were genuinely delighted for the pair of them. It was fab for us too as we saw literally LOADS of familiar faces which is always such a pleasure for us.
This lovely couple had chosen to get married at the Church which means so much to them and hence there wasn’t an empty seat! It was the Baptist Church in the centre of Rugby. But before all that they had to get ready. Abbie chose to use the changing area at their venue, Draycote Hotel. It was a really relaxed morning with Claire Shiner doing make up and The Hair Barn, Kilsby, doing the hair styling. Abbie had chosen a stunning gown from Romantic Dreams in Birmingham. I do believe there were approximately 70 dresses tried on altogether before finding “the one”! During the morning Richard’s Mum turned up with the gorgeous flowers. What a talented lady she is! Check out the cakes too as these were also made by Fiona!
The guys were at a friend’s home getting into suits from Moss Bros. They love their Rugby Football so they made time to sit and watch a bit of this before heading to Church. 🙂 Big thanks to Gemma and Roger for letting the guys loose in your home!!
The service was so lovely with some rather special people being involved. Abbie’s Mum and Dad actually married them! What a wonderful thing to be able to do. Richard’s Mum was also involved giving her son away and then doing one of the readings too.
Afterwards it was into the Church Hall for cake! There were so many people there to wish them well. We also had time for some family photos and confetti before heading back to Draycote where Mia was waiting with drinks and the golf buggies so we could whizz them off onto the golf course to make the most of the dry weather (check out the black cloud looming!) We managed to get some great photos down by Draycote Water and when the rain came we did what we love doing and got the brolly out. They also had some rain later after the wedding breakfast which made for a great pagoda photo.
Speeches were great. The room had been decorated beautifully (Fiona had a hand in this too) and linen was by Rainbow Wedding Shop.
The evening kicked off with the cutting of the cake and then the DJ Sam Letts got the dancing underway.
Great day with great people and as always Mia and the Draycote team did a fantastic job. Check out a few of the photos below. To see more the couple have a password and discount code for prints.
