We had a beautiful sunny day for this latest wedding on the blog. We had the pleasure of being the wedding photographers for the special day of Jill and Graeme at the Peebles Hydro which is in the Borders of Scotland. We absolutely love this area so being able to photograph here is always such a privilege.
Both Jill and Graeme wanted us to capture them getting ready in the morning. They were both doing this at the hotel. It was lovely to see Danni of Danni Burnside Make Up and Beauty again. We have worked together before so I knew it that she was going to ensure that Jill was ready with time to spare. Her hairdresser Donna McCrae was also finished well in time. Jill’s stunning dress was from Pretty Woman Bridal in Edinburgh and was by Modeca.
Graeme and the guys were wearing kilts from Richard MacKay Tailoring. He chose the Help for Heroes Tartan. They looked fab!
We were joined by Colin Moxey who was filming the day alongside us. It was great to meet him.
The flowers by Edelweiss in Galashiels were delivered to Jill’s room, they made the perfect elegant addition.
The ceremony was conducted by Liz Paxton of Peebles Registrars. It included a lovely tying of ribbons (tying the knot which was a great personal touch). Jeff Thomson played the piano throughout.
After the couple were married they were led outside into the sunshine to meet their guests and we made our way onto the magnificent steps for a big group photo and confetti. Kev put the drone up at this point to capture a different perspective and to get the hotel in the shot too. (He is a qualified drone pilot) We had some fun with the group photos before taking the newly weds off for some couple portraits finishing on the balcony overlooking the incredible Borders’ Views. Oh and another confetti shot which actually covered me more than Jill and Graeme! 🙂
It was then time for everyone to make their way into the ballroom for the wedding breakfast. There was the cutting of the cake by Laura’s Cake Company first.
We had a little time before the evening got underway to take some photographs using lighting including a sunset and then Kilter got the music underway for the first dance. And in traditional style the guests were treated to a Ceilidh.
Massive thanks to Vicky who helped the couple plan the day and also to John who was brilliant making sure that everything ran to that plan perfectly on the day itself.
