Almost a year ago to the date we photographed our first wedding at the Laura Ashley Hotel, The Belsfield, in Bowness in the Lake District. Who would have thought that less than a year later we would be photographing there again and having another amazing day at this fabulous venue. Steph and Adam aren’t local so found us after we posted photos on social media of the first wedding. They booked us and we met up with them a few months later near Liverpool to chat through their plans and to get to know them a little better before the big day.

We had a cracking day. The weather was kind (albeit the day before was not looking quite so good!) so everything happened as they had planned. Both of them stayed at the hotel the night before the wedding so I met up with Steph in her suite where she was having hair and make up done by The Glam Box. Her dress was a White Rose Bridal design and was stunning. We had a great morning and it was lovely to get to know the ladies of the bridal party. We also had a very persistent sea gull at the window that just wouldn’t leave them alone!

Kev was on hand to photograph the Adam and the guys who wore suits from Swarbricks Suit Hire.

The floral arrangements were incredible. They were by Kevin of Brackens of Bowness. He had done the flowers for the last wedding we photographed there so we were not surprised by how amazing they were.

Steph walked down the aisle to music from harpist Susan Lambert. There were some beautiful moments during the ceremony including the inclusion of the couple’s dogs who brought the rings down the aisle. A shout out to Steve and Donna Hunt who were the dog sitters for the weekend.

After the ceremony we were able to get outside for confetti and photos. During the couple portraits we had a few tourists join us for a photo with the newly weds!! During this time the room was turned around for the wedding breakfast. It has an incredible view of Windermere which I would never tire of.

Then it was surprise time for the couple. Adam’s parents had secretly booked Surprise Singers Singing Waiters who went down a storm with all the guests.

Once speeches were completed the next surprise was for the guests as they were all booked on a boat trip on the lake with Windermere Lake Cruises. I went on board to photograph everyone enjoying themselves while Kev stayed on shore to capture the alternative view.

The evening got under way with the cutting of the AMAZING cake from Slattery’s Cakes. Then it was dancing with music from DJ Alex.

A fabulous day with a great couple. Thanks to the team at the Belsfield for ensuring everything went to plan. To see more contact the couple for the password to their gallery and a discount code for prints.
