We love having the opportunity to travel so when Emma and Anthony asked if we were prepared to go to the Lake District to photograph their Autumn wedding we didn’t hesitate. It’s one of our favourite places to unwind too. One thing that we hadn’t anticipated at that time was Storm Callum! But The Belsfield is such a stunning hotel inside and out that it was never going to bother us. 🙂

I arrived at the hotel to find Emma, her Mum and sister starting to get ready. They had the assistance of hairdresser Gemma Louise and make up artist Polly Winder. Emma was also on hand to help her Mum with her make up too. The bridal suite is stunning at The Belsfield. It overlooks Lake Windermere and the view is incredible whatever the weather!

During the morning we had such a lovely time together, lots of laughter, coming up with ideas for Dragon’s Den, working out how many Kevins were involved in the wedding (!) and the list goes on. But during this time I found time to photograph lots of the details of the wedding including the stationery made by Amoretto Wedding which incorporated the Clark Tartan. This was used throughout the wedding including on Emma’s beautiful dress from Sammie Lou Bridal Couture. The alterations and additions and also a certain bear’s dress were all by Gemma at Stitched Up in Kenilworth.

Check out the shoes which were made by The Scotland Shop.

Kev went across to Lindale to meet with Anthony and his groomsmen who were all getting ready at Lyme Cottage (Holidaycottages.co.uk). Once ready they made their way back to the hotel to greet guests.

During the morning Kevin from Brackens of Bowness was busy with the floral displays. He came up to the bridal suite to hand Emma her stunning bouquet.

The time had come to get married and we captured some lovely moments of Emma with her Dad walking down the staircase before she entered the room to walk down the aisle. The view during the ceremony is probably on of the most beautiful you could ask for. Harpist AnnaKate Pearson played during the ceremony and also during the drinks reception.

One of the things that the couple had desperately wanted was the confetti throw outside and luckily at the end of the ceremony Callum hadn’t yet done It’s worst so we got everyone outside and captured this before the guests moved inside for drinks. The confetti was from Shropshire Petals. We made the most of the break in the weather and captured some lovely shots of the newly weds with views of the hotel and the lake. Once inside the rain and the wind settled in for the day but we had got what we needed!! 🙂

The wedding breakfast was followed by the speeches which always give us an opportunity to capture smiles and happy tears and then we had a little more time with Emma and Anthony to capture a few more shots inside before we set up for the evening which commenced with the cutting of the cheese cake from Cheese Larder and then DJ Garry Mills got the dancing under way.

A special mention to Heather from the hotel who made sure everything ran smoothly even down to organising a boat trip for the guests the following morning with Windermere Lake Cruises.

We had an amazing day with wonderful people. Thank you for letting us capture your day Emma and Anthony. It was a real pleasure and we cannot wait to design your wedding album.
