We were delighted to be able to share in Lisa and Simon’s very special day at Draycote Hotel recently. There were lots of very touching moments throughout the day along with a couple of surprises thrown in here and there. We had the challenge of rain but a couple of umbrellas and a positive attitude put paid to that!
Lisa wanted to have a few photos of her leaving from home with her bridesmaids and Dad in a beautiful camper from The Old Camper Company. She had been to Fringe where Carla had done hair and make up for her before she put her gorgeous dress on from Wed2B. We had a few giggles getting from front door to van door but it was worth it once safely inside the VW with a few little nibbles to keep off any hunger pangs on the way to Draycote. It’s always a pleasure seeing Mick and Denise, they really go the extra mile when it comes to wedding transport. The bridesmaids also had a great mode of transport as you can see in the photos. Check out their flowers which were arranged by Simon’s sister Sadie Pacey.
Kev was at Draycote to capture Simon greeting guests before he was led into the Phoenix Suite so he didn’t see Lisa when she arrived. He looked fabulous in his Marc Darcy suit from Albie and Lonnie’s as did his groomsmen.
Mia was on hand to help Lisa into the hotel when she arrived. Mia and the team did a fab job all day.
The ceremony was emotional and with laughter too. One of the funny moments was when Simon surprised Lisa with a the soundtrack of Hawaii-5-O to walk back down the aisle. There is a lovely story behind this.
After greeting guests there was a break in the weather so we took the opportunity to make our way onto the golf course for a few couple portraits and then it was back into the warm for some family shots. In the meantime the Phoenix Suite had been turned around for the wedding breakfast. The room looked great with chair covers and sashes from Rainbow Wedding Shop.
Throughout the day there was live music from Pianist DJ and later on they had Sassy Steve doing caricature silhouettes.
After the wedding breakfast the evening guests arrived, we did a few signature shots and then it was time for the party. But first was cake cutting. And the cake was definitely a talking point, it was stunning. Simon had made this himself!
The final surprise was during the first dance. Lisa loves dancing and Simon had been taking secret dance lessons. What an amazing performance the pair of them ended up doing. We were so impressed. There is a big shout out to Jenny and Ian from I Dance. Music continued with Bill Burton.
We had a great day and it was a real honour to be part of it. Lots of love to you both Lisa and Simon and we wish you every happiness together. Thanks to Draycote for being amazing as always too. If you want to see more photos just contact Lisa or Simon for the password.
