We finally had a wedding where there was snow on the ground. It’s only been a few years since the last one!! Kathryn and Phil chose to have a Christmas wedding at the beautiful Swallows Nest Barn. It was a cold day and a few precarious paths to encounter for the ladies in their heals but there were no injuries 🙂 It was a special day for us as we have know Phil for many years. His parents live next door as did Phil when he was growing up.

I arrived at the couple’s house to find the lovely Rebecca Frances busy with the make up brushes and the ladies from Cuttsys doing the hair styling. There was a relaxed atmosphere with Kathryn, new Mum and bridesmaids. Annita from Annita’s Floral Design also arrived with the beautiful bouquets in stunning colours. Kathryn’s gorgeous dress was from Butterfly Bridal Boutique.

Kev met up with Phil, his parents and groomsmen at a hotel near to the venue where he had been staying the night before the wedding. The suits looked fab and were from Albie and Lonnie’s in Rugby.

Everyone made their way to St Peter’s Church where the couple said their vows. It has been a while since we photographed a wedding there so it was nice to be back. The service was led by the vicar Peter.

The couple had chosen a fab car from Townsends to transport them to the venue where we were able to take a few photos before they were welcomed into their drinks reception. We then took a few family photos before taking the couple off for their romantic portraits.

The caterers Chopping Block did a Host the Roast for the main course and everyone loved the experience. The room looked fab with lots of personal touches from the couple themselves and table linen from Rainbow Wedding Shop. They then came out to a Gin Bar. A lot of effort had gone into providing lots of different options and it looked very appealing…..but we were working so there was no sampling for us! Caricaturist Richard Russell entertained the guests during the downtime before the evening got under way.

There has to be a special mention for the Rugby Cake Fairy, Hilary, who made the fab cake. She is also known as the Groom’s Mum and our next door neighbour.

The band were The Somebodies and they got the party started with the first dance and everyone then joined them on the dancefloor.

It was a wonderful day. A special thank you to Verity from Swallows Nest Barn who did a great job of making sure everything went to plan. Check out the photos below. To see more contact the couple for the password and a discount code for prints.
