It’s such a pleasure when we photograph weddings where we know lots of the guests as a result of photographing other family or friends’ weddings and this was the case with Laura and Stuart’s big day. We have known Laura’s family for a number of years so it was lovely to catch up with everyone for yet another special occasion. They chose the ever popular Draycote Hotel which backs onto Draycote Water so has stunning views especially on beautiful days like we had for this wedding.
I started the day with Laura where she was having make up and hair done with her family and bridesmaids. Denise from Salon One was hard at work on the hair styling and Tara from Therapi was on make up duty 🙂 Laura’s princess dress was from Berketex and she really did look like a princess. During the morning flowers arrived from Wendy Robinson who also organised a few extra things at the venue later.
Kev met up with the guys at the hotel where they were getting into their suits from Salters of Rugby. They then travelled to St Marks Church in Bilton.
Laura and her Dad travelled to the Church and the vicar Joy was waiting for here arrival.
After the service we had time for a few family shots and it was then back to Draycote Hotel. Phil, the General Manager, was waiting for the couple to arrive with golf buggies at the ready so we could head off for couple photos by the water. Once back they were welcomed in to their guests and then after a couple of larger group shots it was in for the wedding breakfast. Rainbow Linen had sorted the chair linen and the gorgeous cake was was by For Goodness Cake.
We had received a message in the months prior to the wedding from Laura’s Dad telling us he had arranged Singing Waiters as a surprise for the couple. They went down a storm. Everyone up on their feet dancing and singing along to some popular tunes. If you want to see what it is all about check out Secret Singers.
After the wedding breakfast the room needed to be prepared for the evening and it gave us time to revisit the golf course where we found the most stunning sunset so naturally we took advantage. Casino tables from Mercia Casino Hire and a Photo Booth from DSB kept guests occupied.
The evening kicked off with a father daughter dance on a lovely sparkly dancefloor which had been put down by Green Claw Entertainment. Then Laura and Stuart had their first dance. Music was by Steve Vassell. The final part of the day was a great fireworks display from Halo FX.
We had Ben from BRS Videography working alongside us all day and as always it was a pleasure.
Enjoy a selection of the photos from the day. To see more contact the couple for the password and discount code for prints. Thanks to all at Draycote Hotel for a great day too.
