Those of you who follow our blogs will know how much we like being able to photograph new venues so it was really exciting when Kate and Tom asked us to be their wedding photographers for their big day at Halstead House in Leicestershire. This is a real hidden gem set in glorious countryside.

I met Kate and her gorgeous bridesmaids at the venue where they were getting ready in the farmhouse which is set in the grounds. Such a lovely property with a home from home feel. Shamima Bahadur did an amazing job of hair and make up. All the girls looked fantastic and Kate, well she just looked stunning! Bridesmaids dresses and alterations were by Soar Valley Brides. Kate’s dress came from Wed2Be. We also had the couple’s fab dog, Bailey, with us all day. What a well behaved pooch! He looked great in his pink bow tie!

Kev met up with Tom and the guys at home where he was getting into his Ted Baker suit from the store in Nottingham.

The ceremony was lovely. Elliot Smith played the guitar for the couple throughout. The Leicestershire registrars were great and allowed us to capture all the important moments and added a little humour to proceedings too. Important to ask about photography for your ceremony as only a few miles away in the City Centre the registrars have a different attitude to photography! We were planning on having the drinks reception outside however the weather decided that would be the moment it wouldn’t play ball so we worked around that and found a little spot under the trees for the group shots.

The flowers for the whole day were provided by Stuart Maidment-Graves and they were beautiful.

We had ample photo opportunity with gorgeous gardens, the house, the lake…..the list goes on so we took the newly weds off for some time alone and made use of what we could! It was then back into the venue for the wedding breakfast. The couple had really put their own mark on the day with lots of personal touches. Along with the help of Halstead House their wedding dream was brought to life. The guest book was by The Wedding Tree and the lit letters from Penny Lane Vintage Hire.

Some fun on the lawn with the bridal party before the evening commenced with cutting of the cake from Sharon’s Sugar Crafts in Syston then ┬ádancing to Russell Shaun. The sky gave us some additional photo opportunities just after the first dance!

We had an absolutely fabulous day. Thanks to Laura from Halstead House for keeping the day flowing perfectly. If you want to see more photos then contact Kate and Tom for the password and discount code for prints. Enjoy!
