We had such a great day at Draycote Hotel with the lovely Kathy and Ed. It was a pleasure to spend their special day with them. We were very lucky with the weather too as we managed to get all the photos we needed while the sun shone so we had some blue skies to add to the colour of their wedding.
I started the day with Kathy and her fab bridesmaids who were getting ready at the hotel. It was great to be working again with Candice Fuller, Make Up Artist, and Jaclyn from Timeless Hair. Make up and Hair looked superb! Kev met the guys when they arrived at the hotel looking very smart in their suits from Heaphy’s.
The ceremony was led by Julia from Rugby Registry Office and as always it was very personal with a little humour thrown in for good measure. We are so lucky in Warwickshire as we are able to photograph the key moments during the wedding without any bother at all. The team at the Registry Office work with us so that we are all able to do our job effectively for our couples so none of the important moments are missed.
Once married we whisked Kathy and Ed off for some time away from the crowds to enjoy those first few moments of married life. Buggies were waiting outside for us so we made our way down to the waterside on the golf course to make use of the gorgeous views. They were then welcomed back in to their guests from the balcony. They had a friend, Louise, playing the piano for them. This talented lady had also provided live music during the signing of the register playing the flute!
After a few group shots and a bit of fun with the bridal party the guests were invited back into the Phoenix Suite which had been transformed by the very hard working team of staff at the hotel. Chair covers had been provided by Rainbow Linen along with table stationary. The flowers throughout the day were from The Orangery in Kenilworth and were stunning. Gorgeous colour scheme, navy blue with splashes of orange. The finishing touch to the room was the uplighting which was provided all day by Gary from JLW Sound and Lighting who also provided the music for the evening.
We had hoped for a sunset but the weather had turned so we had some interesting sky instead to use for some evening shots after the cake cutting and first dance. Special mention for Keira, Kathy’s sister, who had made the figures for the top of the cake.
We stayed for the firework display which we managed to capture without everyone getting too wet as the rain had arrived by that point! Halo FX put on an amazing show as always.
Massive thank you to Stephan, Anna and the brilliant team of staff who pulled together to make Kathy and Ed’s day perfect (and thank you for looking after us too! 🙂 ) Enjoy a few of the photos from this lovely wedding.
