One of the things that I love about the job we do is when we meet up with people we have met at other weddings. Well this one was exactly that….and at the same venue too! We originally met Allie and Tom when they were guests at a family member’s wedding at Ashton Lodge Country House, an exclusive wedding venue near Rugby. They decided then that we were to be their wedding photographers when they tied the knot!
I met up with Allie and the girls at the venue where she was getting ready. She was excited and nervous all rolled into one. She had her hair done by Denise from Salon One and Sandie from La Petite Beautique did a fab job with the make up. There was lots going including last minute touches to the marquee which had been beautifully decorated. Allie was helped into her dress from The Wedding Dress Outlet at Burbage by one of her bridesmaids and her Mum and she looked stunning.
Kev spent the morning with Tom and the guys capturing some of his preparations including getting the couple’s two young boys ready. They looked extremely smart in suits from Salters Menswear.
The ceremony room had been decorated with flowers from Basket and Bunches in Daventry and when Allie walked down the aisle there was a lot of emotion. Once married they made their way out onto the terrace for drinks handed to them by Jo from the venue who did a marvellous job of running proceedings throughout the day. The weather was lovely so all the photos could be taken outside on the lawn and we had a bit of fun with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. After the wedding breakfast which had been supplied by the Kings Head at Napton and had high praise from everyone, we whisked them away for a few more photos to make use of the lovely grounds and then it was back inside for the evening proceedings to commence with the cutting of the cake which had been made by Kelly’s Cakes.
After the first dance and a very emotional Dad and Daughter dance there was a pretty gorgeous sunset that really couldn’t be wasted so be nipped outside for that before making our way home to let them party the night away to the music provided by 1Entertainments.
It was a lovely day and so nice to meet up with lots of family who we had met before. Thanks to them and to Ashton Lodge for a fabulous day. Enjoy just a few of the photos below.
