We had our first visit of the year to Ashton Lodge Country House recently. Lisa and Ed had booked us to photograph their special day. The sun decided to shine which meant that this popular exclusive use venue looked even more impressive with it’s recent changes including the new marquee and sparkly trees (which I love as I am a bit of a magpie when it comes to sparkle!)
The couple were both getting ready at the venue. I met up with Lisa in the bridal suite where she was having make up done by Caroline from Warwickshire Bridal Make Up. One of her longstanding friends Lisa of LW Hairdressing was also doing a lovely job. Her beautiful dress was from LilyRose Bridal in Kenilworth and they had made some alterations to it which meant it was Lisa’s perfect gown. Ed arrived dressed in his suit from Daniel John of the Wedding Barn in a very impressive motor! His very own which he had renovated.
The ceremony room looked beautiful with floral touches by Melissa of Rugby Flower Delivery. She had also put together the beautiful bouquets. The marriage was conducted by Julia from the Rugby Registry Office and as always she put the couple at ease and raised a few smiles from the guests. Once the photos were complete everyone made their way into the marquee for the wedding breakfast which was supplied by Portfolio Events and everyone seemed extremely happy with the food.
We took the couple out for a few more photos before the evening got underway with the cutting of a very stunning cake by Sarah Edwards Cakes. I have to say it was so different but so personal. Not Just A DJ got the first dance underway which wasn’t your normal shuffle 🙂 Casino tables were also brought in to add a little extra for the guests. Ed had also arranged a surprise for Lisa by organising two telescopes to be brought in by Dark Skies so they could look at the stars together but unfortunately the cloud put pay to that a little.
Huge thanks to Jo and Carmen who kept things under control and meant that Lisa and Ed had their perfect wedding. We hope you enjoy a selection of the photos. 🙂
