Laura and Stewart chose the beautiful Draycote Hotel for their special day, a venue we know extremely well. It is always a pleasure to photograph there.
I started the day with Laura at Sisco where she was having hair and make up done. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best with pouring rain so we were challenged getting Laura from hair salon into car without being drenched but we managed!! She dressed with her bridesmaids and sons at her parents’ home before making her way across to the hotel with a beautiful bouquet which was just part of the floral package from Nickola Holmes.
Kev spent the morning at Draycote with the lads who all looked very smart in their suits from Formal Affair.
The ceremony was conducted by our wonderful Rugby registrars including a certain person who we will be photographing at her own wedding next year! Normally we would whisk the couple off down the golf course for some photos at this point however the weather wasn’t playing ball so we took all of the group photos indoors during the drinks reception. We then had a break in the rain so made our way outside for a few couple portraits before bringing them back inside for their wedding breakfast.
The Phoenix Suite looked amazing. Rainbow Linen had provided beautiful linen which matched the colour scheme perfectly. Make My Day Events provided a lovely sparkly backdrop which had also been used in the ceremony along with the card box and guest book. Laura’s sister Natalie had been responsible for all the other stationery.
Laura’s Mum had planned a huge surprise for the couple in between the main course and the dessert. She had arranged for Singing Waiters and I have to say they were brilliant. Stephan, the manager of the hotel, even played along with the act before the bogus waiter burst into song along with 2 other female singers. They had everyone up on their feet dancing. Brilliant!
We managed to get out on the golf buggies after the wedding breakfast as the skies cleared and we had a beautiful evening which made for some lovely photos down by the reservoir before making our way back into the hotel for the evening celebrations led by Gary from JLW Sound and Lighting who had also put in all the uplighters throughout the day.
No weather was going to spoil this special day. We would like to thank Laura and Stewart’s family and friends for being great to work with and the newly weds have made a point of asking us to thank you all for your support of them. Thank you also to Stephan, Anna and the rest of the Draycote team for yet another brilliant wedding. Enjoy a few of the photos from their special day.
