We love travelling to different parts of the country to photograph weddings. We have been all over the place this year and this wedding was one of the furthest. Liz and Anthony chose us as their wedding photographers for their special day at the Moorland Garden Hotel on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. What a fabulous part of the country, stunning scenery and Dartmoor ponies roaming loose on the moors.
I met up with Liz and the ladies at the hotel and Kev went off to where Anthony had stayed the night before. The ceremony was conducted by some very pleasant registrars and this was followed by drinks on the terrace. The weather had been a little unpredictable. We had a heavy shower earlier in the day so had everything crossed and it worked. We managed to capture candid shots during the drinks reception and a few formal shots before jumping on the van with our newly weds to take them a little further into the park to take advantage of the scenery. We even managed to capture some ponies in the shots! After a couple of photos in the hotel grounds it was time for the wedding breakfast. As soon as they were safely inside the heavens opened! Phew, it didn’t matter.
We had a fabulous time with their family and friends and we cannot finish without mentioning the amazing wedding cake which had been made by Liz’s sister, Charlotte. It consisted of mini fruit cakes which were all individually decorated. It was amazing (and we were given our own little cake boxes too so can confirm they tasted delicious!)
Enjoy the photos.
