It was a pleasure to be asked to photograph the very special wedding day of Rita and Alan. Our brief was to tell the story of the day and concentrate on family and friends. Rita, in particular, was a little camera shy when we originally met but having photographed her for the pre-wedding shoot she did admit she was a little more comfortable by the big day so we did manage to get a few poses for the camera!
Bridal preparations started at Mops Hair Studio in Dunchurch. The groom was getting ready with his best man at The Draycote Hotel near Rugby which was to be the venue for the reception. The guys looked extremely dapper in their suits which were supplied by Salters Menswear in Rugby, a company who have been providing formal wear for hire for many years. Believe it or not the gorgeous flowers that you can see are everlasting. They were supplied by the ever popular Fleurissimo in Rugby.
The wedding was held at the very beautiful St Peter’s Church in Dunchurch. The day was wet but held off for the arrival of the bride and as it was a later afternoon in winter it was dark by the time we left the Church but we managed to capture a little of the blue in the sky as we lost the light. On arrival at The Draycote Hotel the newly married couple were met by the General Manager, Stephan, and they were led into the hotel. The Draycote Hotel have a very special entrance for their bride and groom. They are announced onto the balcony overlooking the reception and bar to their guests below. It is always a really special moment. They then descend the stairs to a glass of bubbly presented to them by Anna and begin to greet their guests.
Stephan and his team had done the couple proud with the decoration of the room. It looked lovely and there was a real Christmas feel to it. To add extra fun to the day Rita and Alan had booked our Party Photobooth too which commenced after the first dance and went on for the rest of the evening. It really was a lovely day and everyone, including us, had a lot of fun. We want to wish Rita and Alan all the best for their future together.
